Do I need a one-page or multi-page website.

Do I need a one-page or multi-page website?

One of the first questions I ask new clients: how much do you really need to say on your site? That’s what helps decide whether a one-page or multi-page website is the better choice.

What is a one-page website?

A one-page site means all your content lives on a single scrolling page. It’s simple, fast, and often used for portfolios, events, or basic services.

Pros of one-pagers:

  • Quick to build
  • Great for small projects or simple messaging
  • Mobile-friendly and easy to navigate

But the downsides:

  • Limited space for SEO
  • Can get cluttered if you have lots of content
  • Hard to scale as your business grows

What about multi-page sites?

Multi-page websites give you more space and structure. You can dedicate pages to services, about, FAQs, blog, contact. Whatever you need. This helps users (and Google) find what they’re looking for.

So… which one is better?

If you’re just starting out and only need a digital presence, a one-pager can work. But if you’re planning to grow, improve SEO, or give visitors more detail, a multi-page site is worth the extra effort.
